CrossFit NCS to Host Friday Night Lights for CrossFit Games Open

It’s a magical time of year. Chalk in the air, the clang and bang of bars, and the undeniable shouts of support from all your peeps. This is the CrossFit Games Open. CrossFit NCS will host Friday Night Lights starting March 12, 2021, an awesome weekly community event where we all join in and give it our all. We’ll have COVID-safe flights (sign-ups will be in the gym closer to the date) beginning at 4:30 pm where athletes will have a chance to lay it on the line and give it their all. CrossFit endorsed judges will be available for anyone looking for official submissions.

CrossFit NCS and Movember Challenge

We’ve got some fun challenges for everyone this month.  Did you know that 22 veterans commit suicide every day?  For the first 22 days of November, we’re challenging all of you to do 22 push-ups every day.  RX – strict military push ups.  Scaled – from your knees or on a box.  Just get ‘em done. This board is in the back corner of the gym where you can initial the days you do your push-ups – keeping us all accountable.

CrossFit NCS Hosts Free Community Muscles and Masks Competition

This Saturday, October 24, CrossFit NCS will be hosting a community competition called Muscles and Masks. While the event is free to participate in and to watch, we’re encouring everyone to buy one of the limited edition compeition T-shirts. All proceeds from the shirts will go to Mission 22, a veteran support group. While maintaining our social distance – and following indoor mask regulations – athletes will be paired in a blind draw and compete in either RX or scaled divisions. If you’d like to stop by and watch, support Mission 22, or support a friend who’s competing, registration opens at 8 and heats will run throughout the day. Grilling will be open and meats will be supplied. We ask that you bring your own side and sdrinks, if you like. Since we’ll be competing outdoors, we ask that people please park in the upper lot and take the stairway in the southeast corner down to NCS. It’s going to be a blast!

CrossFit NCS and Adaptive & Inclusive Training

Gotta share exciting news… Coach Brynn has completed her Adaptive and Inclusive Trainer certification!  What does this mean?  As a graduate of the course, she has earned the knowledge and practiced the principles that will enable her to conduct fitness training and improve health for people with disabilities and maintain an inclusive setting.  This is so amazing on so many levels!  We’re beyond excited to be able to open up the doors to anyone who wants to work out in a group setting and practice what we preach on meeting everyone wherever you are on your fitness journey.  If you haven’t come to try a class yet, reach out to: [email protected].  We’d love to get to know you and work out with you! #hungryhumblehappy #crossfitncs
