CrossFit

At CrossFit NCS, we are a community-based health and fitness center that follows the CrossFit methodology. This means a goal centered approach to improving your fitness level, whether you’re just staring out or are a more advanced athlete.

CrossFit is not a typical day at the gym. Each day brings a new workout, with varying movements based on gymnastics, metabolic conditioning, and weightlifting. Our goal is to help improve your health in 10 physical skills: cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy.

Here’s the thing about CrossFit: it’s infinitely scalable, so our workouts meet you wherever you are on your fitness journey. You don’t have to “get in shape” to do CrossFit – that’s what CrossFit does!

We follow a traditional CrossFit programming regimine, which means General Physical Preparedness (GPP). We will have a strength component, a metcon (metabolic conditioning), and have the option for additional training for athletes looking to go further each day.

We have athletes all along the competitive spectrum, from beginner to elite. The key is that we’re a supportive community consisting of athletes all looking to improve and progress on their fitness journeys.

NCS Strength

As part of CrossFit NCS, we regularly work with barbells, performing powerlifting and Olympic lifting (sometimes called OLY).

Our highly qualified coaches create custom programming to not only instruct our athletes in the proper and safe techniques of these movements, but also to help improve performance through drills, programming and one-on-one instruction.

Our coaches are USAW certified and have competed competitively both statewide and regionally.

NCS Strength classes are held each Sunday morning from 9:00 am – 10:30 and are included in Unlimited Memberships.

NCS Competitive Athlete Program (CAP)

We’re excited to offer the NCS Competitive Athlete Program (CAP). Designed for the athlete who already actively competes at the RX or Elite level in competitions, or the athlete who has demonstrated the potential to do so, the NCS CAP will drive results for these competitive athletes. Coach Smalls leads the NCS CAP and manages the personal development of each athlete. Athletes will receive personalized training advice, accessory development, strength training, and advanced programming. The NCS CAP program is an adjacent fee to normal membership. If you have questions about NCS CAP, please contact us via call/text at 719-920-6889.

Adaptive and Inclusive Athletes

Crossfit NCS offers a safe, effective and inclusive environment for Adaptive athletes to train in. An ATA trainer is on staff with the skills to help you develop strength for activities for daily living (ADLs and IADLs), reduce limitations and increase functionality while also heeding the advice of your medical professionals. Adaptive athletes are a part of our community and our goal is to have all levels and abilities of athletes working together in this community, encouraging everyone to person to their strongest and highest levels.

NCS Accessory

Pull-ups and pull-up variations, bar and ring muscle-ups, handstand walks and handstand push-ups, double-unders…these are all body-weight and gymnastic-based movements that many of us could use some intensive instruction and programming to improve.

At CrossFit NCS, we offer periodic NCS Accessory clinics where our coaches provide more intensive coaching and programming to help improve – or even master  tthese movements.

Beginner or competitive athlete, improving these skills can help move you to the next level of your fitness journey.
